Client Stories

 Exceeding Expectations and Enabling Results

Exceeded Expectations...

How often do you hear that? Probably not that often – especially when it is said with sincerity and conviction. Well, we heard it describing the first workshop that we conducted for a new client. Wow. What a feeling to have created an environment that had that much impact for a team!

Our client went on to say things like:

• “I never experienced a meeting like this.”

• “The two days just flew by – we were constantly busy and engaged.”

• “We got so much done in such a short period of time.”

• “We are excited about what we can do next.”

So, how did we help this team create such a powerful result from our first engagement together? These concepts guide our approach:

  1. Listening Deliberately and Intentionally – we hear our clients’ words, message, emotion, body-language, and “what is not being said” so we can help reflect, synthesize, and get to the heart of the matter
  2. Matching the right tools to the right problem – every situation is unique and we use our extensive experience and catalog of tools, approaches, methodologies and processes to meet the challenge
  3. Creating a different and engaging experience – we increase engagement and “being present” with every session by incorporating interactive and fun exercises and emphasize the intent and outcome achievement
  4. Enabling uncomfortableness – the kind that gets at the “elephant in the room” and what no one wants to talk about but should!
  5. Creating wins from failures – for us, it is all about iteration! Frequent, small cycles of experiments that everyone learns and course-corrects to create sustainable and predictable results
  6. And finally - Always being of service to the client and to the team – it is about them, not us. The success of the workshop is not ours – its theirs. We are the guides, the facilitators, the Sherpas – ready to assist when needed!

Enabling Results...

"I have had the pleasure of working with Kim in several different roles and companies over the past 20 years. I have always found her to be the quintessential partner and coach. Her ability to refine complex problems into simplified, consumable parts, combined with a highly collaborative style, has been instrumental in helping my organizations succeed though our different change agendas. Adding this new aspect of graphical facilitation, has taken things to a whole different level. Kim’s ability to bring things to “life” through her artistic talents is a gift. No longer are we wordsmithing another PowerPoint, that gets filed away after the session. You will find that her work will become prominently displayed for all to see and reference. I would strongly recommend engaging Kim with our next change initiative. You will be amazed at the outcome."

- Scott Witter, Senior Vice President, AIG

"Having worked with Kim in the past I was excited to work again with her in a new medium for us to communicate a multi-year Cloud Journey. Kim explained “Collaboration is key to the creation process…” and together we brain stormed and offered various perspectives for a final product. Kim would take the complex ideas we were trying to communicate and sketch various scenes and thoughts real-time and then we would discuss what had to improve, what had to be removed and what was perfect. After a few reiterations we had a final product…a large poster board communication our message and themes in a colorful and much more importantly, a memorable medium which resonated across all levels of our organization. Anyone could create “yet another PowerPoint” but we took a risk and hit it out of the park with this approach. 3+ years after its creation, it’s still talked about, referenced, and visible today by our business. It was an awesome experience and I highly recommend that anyone reading this review or contemplating trying something different…give it a chance and let Kim communicate your vision in a truly unique fashion!!!"

- Dan Orzell, Senior VP and Chief Architect, AIG

"Kim has been great to work with as we have revisited our five year vision board. She helped us develop our first one five years ago and the topics remained relevant that we could use those same guiding principles for the next five years. Her creativity continues to show through as she adds drawings and colors to the ideas we developed. Very flexible and easy to work with and I'd recommend her without reservation!"

- David Pugh, Executive VP and Chief Experience Officer, Farm Credit East

"I have worked with Kim at several different companies throughout the years and have always been impressed by her professionalism, energy, and creativity. I had the opportunity recently to hire Kim as a visual facilitation consultant for a two-day offsite with my team and was very impressed with her work in this capacity. I have hired visual artists in the past, but they typically struggle to understand the content they are translating into pictures. Kim not only created great artwork, but she challenged my team and did an outstanding job of engaging them for a very productive offsite meeting. I would highly recommend Kim as a visual facilitator for those looking for someone who can combine artistic expression with deep industry experience."

- Michael Hicks, C-level Executive

"NEOS needed someone to facilitate our annual business planning offsite and to ensure that the objectives and actions developed would be captured in a way that we could communicate them clearly to our employees and create alignment and focus. Kim kept us on on point throughout the 2-day session and utilized her visual facilitation approach to illustrate our mission, objectives, SWOT analysis, and tactical and strategic actions. She illustrated our 5 year plan on a wall graphic that we have placed in our office space to really “live” our plan and keep us focused on our primary goals for the near and long term. We believe her visual facilitation approach created a more impactful meeting and gave us the visual tools to accelerate real actions that will translate to meeting and surpassing our goals."

- Carla Gregory, NEOS

"Kim has the ability to motivate and energize a team, enabling accomplishments far beyond their expectations. And because of her deep understanding about how business operates, Kim can take apart a business model and make you see things you never saw before - guiding you to put the pieces back together, driving the best results and empowering teams. Kim's strengths lie both in leading large organizations, as well as, small team engagement. She is creative, smart and a true partner."
