My friend Kate Boccia started the National Incarceration Assocation (NIA) after her son Daniel was incarcerated under mandatory minimum laws. She aims to bring awareness to these laws and conditions of prisons and treatment of prisoners as well as support for the families and friends and communities impacted. I am honored to be able to lend my talents to help her tell her story and increase awareness. Go Kate!
Attended the monthly SIM meeting in Central Connecticut a few weeks ago and had the pleasure to experience Debra Bremer's talk on "Wearing Your Own Shoes" - check out my sketch notes!
